The program of Dhagpo Kundreul Ling

Cultivate Your Inner Wealth

Everyone aspires to lasting happiness free from all suffering. Living in a complex and constantly changing society generates confusion and dissatisfaction. For twenty-five centuries, the Buddha’s teachings have invited us to cultivate our inner wealth by developing kindness and discernment.

Even today, the values conveyed by Buddhism lead us to better express our humanity by taking care of ourselves, others, and the world. Through the three aspects of practice– study, meditation and daily practice – we become more aware of how we perceive our environment and our true nature.

“To study means to learn the Dharma. It involves reflecting upon it, pondering its meaning precisely and understanding it. This is what will allow one to take the teaching as a reference. And it is on this foundation that meditation or practice will be supported by study.”

Lama Jigme Rinpoche

Introduction to Buddhist Meditation

The practice of meditation leads to a more peaceful and at ease mind. As our mind becomes relaxed, events that usually disturb us lose their importance and we consider them less dramatically. Through meditation, the mind gradually learns to no longer be distracted by circumstances. When the mind is not affected by internal and external movements, it is able to discover its own stability and tranquility. A stable, undisturbed mind leads us to experience less suffering in our life.

Introduction to Karma

Karma is not a predetermined destiny! It is the process by which we experience the conditions we encounter, whether they are pleasant or unpleasant. The word karma means ‘action’ and refers to acts that we have performed and that we are performing, motivated by the different states of mind that pass through us. Working on our own mind leads us to gradually free ourselves from the grip of events so that we can approach them in a more constructive and creative way. This course explains how to approach karma in such a way as to turn it into a process of inner transformation.

EVENT
Exceptional exhibition of the Relics of Buddha

From Thursday 21 to Wednesday 27 August

Dhagpo Kundreul Ling has the immense honor to welcome the relics of Shakyamuni Buddha from August 21 to 27.

In the presence of His Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, this exceptional event offers a unique opportunity to connect with the jewel of the Buddha and his spiritual influence.

EVENT
His Eminence the 4th Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche: The Torch of Certainty Third and Fourth Parts

From Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 August at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling
From Sunday 24 to Tuesday 26 August at Dhagpo Kundreul Ling

Each of us has obtained a human existence. Its purpose is to enter the doorway of the Dharma, and for this it is necessary for our minds to turn toward the Dharma. In order for our minds to turn toward the Dharma, it is necessary to know the qualities of the three jewels and to develop convinced trust in them. This trust will not appear so long as we do not keep death and impermanence in mind. This is why we must begin by familiarizing ourselves with the impermanent nature of all things. The reminder of impermanence is born from understanding that it is difficult to find a human existence endowed with freedoms and wealths. The four common preliminary practices are the roots of practice.

His Eminence Lodro Thaye, the First Jamgon Kongtrul, Preface of The Torch of Certainty

DISCOVERY / Introduction

Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August

Introduction to Refuge

Taking refuge is the commitment that marks the beginning of the path. The objects of refuge are the Three Jewels: the Buddha (awakening), the Dharma (the teaching), and the Sangha (the guides). Connecting with refuge brings a spiritual dimension to our lives and offers support throughout the path; in this way, we can begin to develop the enlightened qualities that lie within each of us.
Lama Dorjé Puntso and Sherab Kunzang will explain the various meanings of the Three Jewels and how to apply refuge in daily life.

INSTITUTE

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September

The truth of origin – Teaching restitution
The afflicting obscurations – Final part

Based on the teachings of khenpo Chödrak Tenphel Rinpoche.

A few days after attaining enlightenment, the Buddha taught for the first time the Four Noble Truths: the truth of suffering, the truth of the origin of all suffering, the truth of cessation, and the truth of the path. The second truth explains how different states of mind and the actions that result from them are the causes for the appearance of worlds and beings. This second truth is the cause of the first, the truth of suffering; it is to be abandoned.

It is presented in two parts: actions and afflicting obscurations. The afflicting obscurations are the causes of actions. Their definitions, the cause of their appearance, the way they function and unfold, etc. are explained. These detailed explanations allow us to develop more clarity about the different states of mind that we experience in order to identify those that are to be cultivated and those that are to be abandoned. This teaching is based on the eighth chapter of Entry Into the State of a Pandita composed by 1st Ju Mipham Rinpoche, an eminent and accomplished scholar of the 19th century.

During the previous course, the following of this part was explained; in this course, we will finish its detailed explanation.
