Programme

From October 2025 to May 2026

The program of Dhagpo Kundreul Ling

Cultivate Your Inner Wealth

Everyone aspires to lasting happiness free from all suffering. Living in a complex and constantly changing society generates confusion and dissatisfaction. For twenty-five centuries, the Buddha’s teachings have invited us to cultivate our inner wealth by developing kindness and discernment.

Even today, the values conveyed by Buddhism lead us to better express our humanity by taking care of ourselves, others, and the world. Through the three aspects of practice– study, meditation and daily practice – we become more aware of how we perceive our environment and our true nature.

“To study means to learn the Dharma. It involves reflecting upon it, pondering its meaning precisely and understanding it. This is what will allow one to take the teaching as a reference. And it is on this foundation that meditation or practice will be supported by study.”

Lama Jigme Rinpoche

DISCOVERY / INTRODUCTION

An Introduction to Buddhist Meditation

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March
Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May

The practice of meditation leads to a more peaceful and at ease mind. As our mind becomes relaxed, events that usually disturb us lose their importance and we consider them less dramatically. Through meditation, the mind gradually learns to no longer be distracted by circumstances. When the mind is not affected by internal and external movements, it is able to discover its own stability and tranquility. A stable, undisturbed mind leads us to experience less suffering in our life.

MEDITATION

Commemoration of Lama Gendun Rinpoche’s Parinirvana

Friday 31 October

When the 16th Karmapa sent Lama Gendun Rinpoche to France, he said, “I know you are a lama who has carried his practice to its conclusion. The time has come for you to accomplish the benefit of others.” And thus for more than twenty years, this monk and accomplished yogi made the Buddha’s teaching accessible in France and Europe to whomever wished to practice it. The purity of his ethics, the depth of his meditation, and the clarity of his mind made him a source of inspiration for a great many practitioners, Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike, which still continues to this day.
Lama Gendun Rinpoche left us on October 31, 1997.

MEDITATION

Bodhisattva Dorje Sempa

Approach to the Practice

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November

The practice of Dorje Sempa is the second part of the foundational practices of Mahamudra. These practices help to prepare oneself for the practice of vajrayana.

Dorje Sempa, whose mantra is called the hundred syllable mantra, is a manifestation of the immaculate and unchanging nature of the mind. This meditation, which purifies negativity and veils, reveals our deepest nature.
This course is designed for people who are committed to the foundational practices of Mahamudra and who wish to receive explanations on Dorje Sempa with a view to putting them into practice. Explanations will be based on the commentary by Lodro Thaye, the 1st Jamgon Kongtrul, (1818 – 1899), entitled The Torch of Certainty, and will alternate with periods of formal practice.

MEDITATION – EVENT

Kagyü Mönlams

Retransmission of the accumulation of aspiration prayers taking place in Bodhgaya, India

From Monday 15th to Sunday 21st December

The Kagyü Mönlams is one of the most important events for Buddhist practitioners of the Karma Kagyü school. For one full week, there is a gathering together to recite wishing prayers for the happiness of all beings.

The power of these aspirations is multiplied exponentially by the gathering of thousands of practitioners who, together, unite their wishes for the well-being and spiritual development of all.

This year, for the sixth consecutive time, the Dhagpo Kundreul Ling community will once again be taking part in these aspiration prayers. They will be broadcast from India on a large screen.

Whether in the presence of Gendun Rinchen and the monastic community in the Main Temple of Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, or live on our YouTube channel, all practitioners are invited to join us in this accumulation.

DISCOVERY / INTRODUCTION

Introduction to The Four Thoughts That Turn the Mind From Samsara

Saturday 31 January

To follow the Buddhist path, we can simply start where we are. The Buddha invites us to reflect on various aspects of our lives, leading us to become aware of our true situation. To counter our belief that everything is permanent, he taught impermanence. To reflect on and be attentive to actions and their consequences, he taught karma. In order for us to see our reality as it is, he explained the dissatisfaction and discomfort of samsara. Finally, the preciousness of human existence opens our eyes to the good conditions we already have for travelling the path. This course introduces us to these four reflections, which form the basis of the Buddhist path, and explains how to put them into practice.

The Lojong Approach

Spirituality in Everyday Life

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February

Based on a practical approach that can be applied to everyday life, training the mind means developing wisdom and compassion. Through reflection and meditation, and starting with our egocentric habits, we transform the way our mind works, gradually opening up to our true reality. This approach is inspired by Lojong, the teaching of the Indian Buddhist master Atisha (982 – 1054), which explains, in the form of pithy slogans, how to bring every situation onto the spiritual path.

Lojong

Practice Accumulation

From Tuesday 10 to Sunday 15 March

Lojong means “training the mind”. Based on a text by the Indian Buddhist master Atisha (982 – 1054) and presented in the form of pithy slogans, this teaching details the relative aspect, and the ultimate aspect of the awakened mind. DISCOVERY / INTRODUCTION

Introduction to Interdependence

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April

We need only look at how we interpret situations according to our preconceived ideas, and how we react to them according to our habitual tendencies, to understand the extent to which our mind is subject to a conditioning process that blinds and imprisons us. By precisely describing this process through the 12 links of dependent origination, the Buddha helps us to better perceive the deep root of our dissatisfaction and suffering. This understanding, combined with greater attention and awareness, can enable us to put an end to them once and for all by behaving in a more responsible and appropriate way.

DISCOVERY / INTRODUCTION

Introduction to Karma

From Saturday 23 May to Monday 25 May

Karma is not a predetermined destiny! It is the process by which we experience the conditions we encounter, whether they are pleasant or unpleasant. The word karma means ‘action’ and refers to acts that we have performed and that we are performing, motivated by the different states of mind that pass through us. Working on our own mind leads us to gradually free ourselves from the grip of events so that we can approach them in a more constructive and creative way. This course explains how to approach karma in such a way as to turn it into a process of inner transformation.
